New Account Creation

*** IMPORTANT: Following full external REDCap migration, no additional user accounts will be granted for the external instance of REDCap.

All new IHR REDCap accounts require formal training appropriate to the level of access the user will require. REDCap accounts are granted solely by the IHR REDCap Administrative Team and will be done so only after completion of required training and protocol attestation. Accounts currently in a 'suspended' status will require a business justification and formal application to be reinstated.

Users with existing accounts that have not had formal training are encouraged to strengthen their knowledge by completing a training appropriate to their user level. Users whose passwords have expired due to lack of activity will require a formal application to have their password reset. If you have questions about the level of account you may need, require account reinstatement or a password reset, please email the administrative team at Project_REDCap@kp.org.

Basic Accounts

Basic accounts are best suited for individuals working in REDCap who do not need the permissions to build projects and will be primarily performing data-entry related tasks. To get a basic account, you must complete the appropriate level of training for your REDCap role (data entry, data analysis, operational form completion). These trainings consist of short educational videos followed by a quiz that will cover topics such as background information, data entry, creating reports, exporting data, contacting survey participants, and working in longitudinal projects. If you will be doing project management, user management, or using APIs you will need a full account.

  • The basic tutorial takes about forty-five minutes and does not all have to be done in one session.
  • To leave the tutorial and finish later, simply click the "Save and return later" button.
  • After you have completed the tutorial you will receive instructions on creating your REDCap account.
  • When you have your REDCap account, you will need to give your username to the project manager so that they can add you to the project.
Please contact the REDCap Administrative team to request access to the appropriate training for your role by emailing Project_REDCap@kp.org
